Cascais, a destination for kings and fishermen, Portuguese and foreign tourists, is a place for people from the mountains and from the sea, with a unique gastronomic heritage from the crossing of multiple cultures and traditions. Recipes from Kings and Fishermen takes us on a guided tour of close to 80 recipes with different origins and characteristics, all chosen with a ‘taste’ of Cascais. From the dishes which best represent this municipality’s gastronomic traditions to the modern reinterpretations of some of these same traditions, we rediscover the importance of fish and shellfish, poultry and game, cakes and cookies.
